Hamilton Mountain/Beacon Rock

06/21/14 (Sat) - 06/22/14 (Sun)

Everett Hiking

Bernadette Lamarca

Ash Way P&R - southwest section

The Hamilton Mountain trail is steep and rocky. There are two pretty waterfalls on the trail that leads to the summit. Beacon Rock is an 848-foot basalt column that formed the core of an ancient volcano. It towers over the Columbia River.

This is a 2-day car camping trip. We will camp at Beacon Rock State Park. Start the Beacon Rock hike early so we can be on the road for the long drive back to Seattle. As a bonus to this trip, we will drive over the Bridge of the Gods (which is part of the PCT) into Oregon after the Sunday hike and before we head back home.
