Course Overview: The Coastal Kayak Surf Zone course is designed to teach paddlers the necessary skills to safely launch and land a kayak in the surf. Conditions should include small waves height less than 3 ft, ideally with spilling surf on a gently sloping beach clear of obstacles and swimmers. Winds should not exceed 15 knots.

This clinic will give you the experience to practice launching and landing your sea kayak in surf. Participants will be instructed on how to safely enter and exit a surf zone in a sea kayak. You will be spending time in the water, so a wet or drysuit is required as are helmets and a solid fitted spray skirt that won't implode. Helmets required.
