The Olympia Branch will hold its annual Awards Celebration on Saturday, October 12, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, to honor 2024 course graduates and recipients of awards, pins, and patches.
Hear from Eric Linxweiler on the new 10th edition of Mountaineering: The Freedom of the Hills. Eric will discuss the long road to Freedom 10 and the substantial updates in the new edition, followed by time for audience Q&A. Copies of the book will also be available for purchase and signing.
During the evening, we will have heavy refreshments (including vegetarian options), with complimentary wine, beer, and soft drinks.

About the speaker:
Eric Linxweiler joined The Mountaineers in 2001, enrolling in climbing classes and subsequently teaching field trips and mentor groups, and also assisting climbing trips. When the organization moved to Magnuson Park and hired a new executive director, he served as Board president. Linxweiler also served as Vice President of Publishing and Branches before leading the effort for Freedom 10.
