Group Financial Assistance
This page is for groups and youth-serving partner organizations requesting financial assistance. For more information on individual scholarships for membership or course fees, visit our scholarships page here.
GUIDELINES
Please read the following guidelines, which are in place so that we can serve as many people as possible with the funds we have available.
- Eligibility: Any group that has a scheduled program with The Mountaineers may apply for financial assistance. The Mountaineers uses a sliding-fee scale guideline and requests are awarded based on the organization's budget and what you are able to pay for a program. If you are a school group, we base our decision in part on the percent of students who receive free or reduced price lunch at your school. If your program is not affiliated with a school, please include the number of participants in your group that receive financial assistance to participate in your program. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us. We are committed to providing high-quality programming to all those that are interested.
- 30% to 70%: The Mountaineers typically awards financial assistance of 30–70% of the program cost, based on need. In some cases, we may be able to provide more than 70%. In order for us to serve as many people as possible, we ask programs to ask for only what they need in order to participate.
- Transportation: Transportation can be part of your financial assistance request.
- Apply at least 2–4 weeks before your program start date. We will not be able to refund the difference if you receive a scholarship after paying for the program in full.
