Meet outside the visitor center at Sunrise at 7am.
This is a slow-paced hike with frequent stops for those who want to do this hike, but can't go very fast. If you are a fast-pace hiker, this is NOT for you.
After meeting and introductions (plus verifying that everyone has their 10 essentials), we will depart the visitor center and head towards Sourdough Ridge. At Sourdough Ridge, we'll turn left and hike pace Frozen Lake before rounding it and heading up to the Mount Fremont Lookout.
Since this is a slow-paced hike, if we haven't reached the lookout by noon, we'll be turning back. I don't think we'll need to turn back, though, since our pace should have us there by 10am or earlier. I just want to set expectations.
We'll spend about 30 minutes or so at the lookout before heading back to the parking area and ending the hike.
Bring snacks for are rest breaks. Or lunch, if you think you might need more than a snack.
Optional: After the hike, we can stop in Greenwater at the Naches Tavern to a drink/eats and talk about the hike.
