Family X-Co Ski, tubing, and snowshoeing adventure. Based on weather and age of participants we will go to Longmire trail, Barnes Flats (between Longmire and Paradise) and/or Paradise for snow play

Meet at back of Martin Way park n ride at 8:00 and head to Longmire, where we will rent skiis if appropriate. Based on weather we will then drive up to Barnes Flats for skiing and snow shoeing. If time allows, we will continue to Paradise for some tubing.
This is a beginner level event and we have snow shoes for adults and kids. There is a $13.50 fee for renting cross country skiis at Longmire and they don't take reservations, so snow shoes are a back up.
National Park passes are required. Chains are also required to be in the car for driving up to Barnes Flats or Paradise. We should consider carpooling with people with appropriate cars.
Snow shoes require that the user wear warm snow boots or hiking boots with thick socks. Cross country skiing requires thick warm socks to go into rental boots.
We will plan on buying hot cocoa when we return skiis at Longmire.
Plan on departing from Longmire no later than 5:00pm.

Required Equipment
Winter clothing including 2 sets of gloves, hat, long underwear, layers on top for exerting oneself in cold weather.
Each child needs a pack with spare clothing, sunglasses/sunscreen, water, snacks
Adults need winter 10 essentials.
Cars need National Park pass and chains.
Bring lunch to eat in cars or in lodge or in snow if weather permits.
