I have never been to Cale Flattery, so this is a voyage of discovery. I will gather some rough beta from previous explorers and we will set off along the unknown coast. Bluff reconnoissance shows small deep, rocky bays. There are rumors of caves riddling the bluffs!
Off of Cape Flattery there is a group of islands known as the Tatoosh - seldom visited (unless you are a light keeper with helicopter or perhaps a fisherman with internal combustion engine and there are quite a few of those but nevermind). Observations of moon and sun effect on ocean water movement indicate we may have a window of moderate movements and may be able to cross and explore these lands. Careful consideration will be required as crossing is to a committed, exposed position.
Since we are paddling among rocks and caves you must have had training doing rescues among rocks and caves (aka rock gardening)
Since all landings wether they be on beach, gravel, rock or cliff, will be subject to surf, you must handle well in surf.
Seeking a group of volunteers (sorry, no pay, only glory) for this venture. Must have good boat handling skills. Strength to paddle 10 to 14 nautical miles. May need some bursts of energetic paddling to avoid being swept into the open pacific. Balance in rough waters a necessity. Ability to retain calm if dumped into swirling rocking waters. Winds must not disturb your ability to direct your vessel. Those subject to sea sickness may find this trip utter misery.
Planned weather is sunny and mild.
