Each October, the Olympia Mountaineers gather to celebrate the work we have done, the fun we have had, and the friendships we have made during the program year.
We recognize graduates of all of our classes and present awards to leaders who have shown exemplary service in climbing, conservation, youth outreach, scrambling, and hiking. Pins and patches are presented. We also honor an Olympia Mountaineer with the Branch Service Award. This award recognizes an Olympia Mountaineer for their outstanding service over a multi-year period.
During the evening, we will have light refreshments (including vegetarian options), with complementary wine, beer, and soft drinks.
The featured speaker is Lowell Skoog, local alpine ski historian and Mountaineers member, who will read excerpts from his book "Written in the Snows: Across Time on Skis in the Pacific Northwest.
