REGISTRATION
Registration typically begins in the spring and the course goes from September to October. A pre-course climbing night is often required before the commencement of the course.
GOALS
The goal is to give participants the tools to ascend and clean well bolted single pitch sport climbing routes in an outdoor setting. And to create confident, independent, and competent leaders who will keep themselves and their climbing partners safe.
OBJECTIVES
Students must be proficient at lead belaying, lead climbing, clipping, falling, building a top-rope anchor and cleaning a route before the outdoor practicum.
mETHODS
Classes typically consist of both hands on lectures, and experiential learning in an indoor or outdoor setting with an instructor. Finally, the course culminates with a complete practicum of their skills in an outdoor setting.
