Partner Programs
PARTNER PROGRAMS
The Mountaineers works with a variety of youth serving organizations to offer customized partner programs. We call these programs Partner Programs.
Partner Programs are single or multi-day experiences designed in collaboration with partner organizations to meet the educational goals of their group. Typically broken into 1 hour or ½ hour activity blocks, the flexible, hands-on curriculum is designed to expose youth to transferable outdoor skills and impart a desire to explore and conserve the outdoors. Participants learn skills applicable to almost anything youth will do for the rest of their lives: communication, planning, overcoming obstacles, and team-work.
Partner programs are supported by staff in Olympia, Seattle, and Tacoma.
PROGRAM OFFERINGS AND SEASONAL AVAILABILITY
FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
The Mountaineers Access Program (MAP) is a scholarship fund that subsidizes individuals or groups who otherwise would not be able to afford The Mountaineers programs. Group scholarships are available to partner programs participating in Partner Programs or borrowing group gear through the Gear Library. On average, the MAP fund supports about 50% of the cost of our Partner Programs, increasing partner access to our high-quality outdoor education programs.
MAP is made possible by generous contributions from individuals, corporations and foundations, including the REI Foundation, Treeline Foundation, and Bradley Foundation. We count on these donations from our members and partners to fulfill this very important part of our mission.
