Basic Instructor Review - Mountaineers Seattle Program Center

Instructor review for those who want to volunteer with the Foothills Basic program or instruct Foothills Basic students

  • Moderate

Seattle Program Center, time TBD

This is the signup for the Foothills Branch Basic Climbing Course Instructor Review. In this session we will focus on fundamentals and rock climbing skills. There will be a separate review scheduled for crevasse rescue practice.

If you're a new instructor, feel like you need to brush up on your skills, or haven't attended in the last few years, this review is a requirement to help instruct. It's a good way to get back in the climbing mindset before the course starts. It will also help you think about climbing skills from instructor perspective.

Anyone who wishes to volunteer with the Basic Climbing Course as an instructor or leader must have taken or instructed this review (or Everett one) within last 3 years.

Please note that if you are just looking to brush up your skills with no intention to help instruct on Foothills Basic course, we ask you to refrain from signing up. While we would love to help you with your skills, this session is prioritized and intended for instructors only.
