The scenario session will be held 6:30 PM to 9 PM, Monday, May 9 at the Lake Desire Community Club.
Volunteer patients and evaluators should arrive at 6 PM.
Practical review session for Wilderness First Aid. Responders will run through several accident simulations requiring the applications of their first aid skills, as well as group dynamics and resource management.
Individuals interested in volunteering as patients or evaluators should contact the trip leader.
Completion of the lectures and the scenarios session are required to receive your badge in the Mountaineers system. You may not do these out of order.
Required Equipment
You should dress and pack as if on a Mountaineers outing at this time of year in the Cascades. (For example, if you were heading out for a two day basic glacier climb next weekend, bring that exact pack with you to the scenario session). You will need to use items from you pack to create splints, build shelters, etc.
We will be outside all evening regardless of the weather. You should plan to be kneeling or sitting on the ground to respond to your patients. Dress accordingly.
We will have first aid kits for you to use so you do not have to expend the gear in your personal first aid kit.
