Seminar Description
As an EMT, Chris has always had an interest in Anaphylaxis and what can be done to bridge medical care from the point of the incident until the patient reaches the hospital. In recent years, Chris, while not having the extreme of Anaphylaxis reaction, has been diagnosed with many different forms of allergies and he will discuss his path to being diagnosed.
Anaphylaxis is a true medical emergency that will need immediate medical intervention. We will discuss what an allergic reaction is, how it occurs, and steps to take once an allergic reaction (or anaphylaxis) has been identified or is occurring. Please note that this seminar does provide credit towards a WFA, MOFA, or WFR recertification.
Chris Caviezel, EMT-B, has been a Mountaineers Member for 13 years as well as Mountaineers Hiking and Scrambling Leader. Chris has also been an Emergency Medical Technician for 10 years working with various Fire Departments and is a Search and Rescue member in King County (4x4 and SPART) as well as Kittitas County (Back Country and Winter Back Country teams). Chris is also an Amateur Radio Operator and participates in Summits-on-the-Air.
