Online webinar on how to lead inclusive outdoor activities for individuals who identify as neurodivergent with Amy Carlsen. A Leadership Development Series presentation.

Diversity is expressed in various ways, including but not limited to physical, emotional, cognitive, and developmental abilities; race and ethnicity; national origin; culture; socioeconomic status; gender; sexual orientation; age; and religion.

In this presentation, we will define neurodivergence and explore common challenges that neurodivergent individuals face when participating in outdoor activities. We will discuss practical strategies for engaging all individuals in a group, ensuring that everyone feels seen and heard as we lead by example.

Seminar Notes

This presentation will encourage attendees to speak up throughout the presentation and be interactive with prompting discussion questions interspersed within lecture segments. 

PRESENTER

Amy Carlsen has been part of the Moutaineers since 2020. When she isn't in the mountains, she is a nurse at Seattle Children's Hospital and a fierce advocate for individuals with disabilities and their families.
