Alpine Scramble - Cowlitz Divide
Gorgeous meadows and sweeping views to a striking summit just above Cowlitz Park (Pt 7416, ~1.3 miles W of Indian Bar). This very strenuous (yet technically easy) scramble is a great opportunity to hear bull elk bugling as well as enjoy the cooler fall temperatures. [Lead photo by Leaf Petersen ]

A great workout at ~18 miles and ~5500’ of elevation gain from Box Canyon to the summit of Point 7416. You can read about past trips to this area here and here, although we’ll be skipping Point 6859 and following the ESE trending ridge crest to reach Point 7416:
