This is a moderately paced hike through several Cougar trails. Note trailhead is Cross-Town Trail, not Terrace Trailhead.
We will follow a counter-clockwise loop for ~5 4/10 miles total distance with 743 ft elevation gain, starting at Cross-Town trail and connecting with Terrace trail and on to DeLeo Wall trail. We will stop at the DeLeo Wall for a quick break, then continue on and connect to Wildside and Marshall's Hill trails. Upon getting to the Water Tower, we will take a shortcut through a Newcastle neighborhood and reconnect with Terrace trail. We will take Terrace trail down and a paved back road to our starting point.
We will look to do an avg pace of 2 mph: moderate-paced hike uphill and 2.25 mph straighaway and downhill. This is a slightly slower pace thatn hikes I typically lead. Even though we should finish before sunset, please bring headlamp just in case.
