Day Hike - West Tiger Mountain No. 3 Cable Line

The Cable Line is better when you have company!

  • Strenuous
  • Challenging
  • Mileage: 4.5 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 2,100 ft
  • High Point Elevation: 2,522 ft
  • Pace: 2 mph

7am, High Point Trailhead (! not the Cable Line trailhead). Drivers will need a Discovery Pass.

From the nice parking lot at High Point Trailhead, we will hike east on the Tiger Mountain Trail to meet the (in)famous Cable Line. Take this up to the summit of West Tiger 3, then descend on the more mellow West Tiger No. 3 trail. We'll start early so we can finish early, and you'll be home by noon. A great hike if you have other plans for Memorial Day, but still want to get some conditioning in.

Feel free to bring a loaded backpack for training / conditioning. We'll aim to keep moving, but we'll regroup at all junctions and nobody will be left behind. The Cable Line feels steep and rough for many people - make sure you are comfortable with that.

One assistant leader spot is reserved for experienced hikers who might want to become trip leaders. Email me directly if you are interested.
