South Renton P & R, early. Details will be in the leader's welcome message.
The ascent to the ridge is steep. Sometimes there is a hard crust of ice just where you gain the ridge. An ice axe can be helpful to self belay at this point. Otherwise this is not a technical trip. The ridge is a great place to roam and enjoy the view.
If the gate to Paradise will not open that day (we may only find out the night before or that morning) or weather or avalanche conditions make the trip unfeasible, I will look for an alternate trip.
Intermediate students: You must at least have the Basic Snowshoe badge. Email leader prior to registration opening with information on your snowshoeing experience and wait for a response. I generally check email daily.
