This urban night walk is for fully vaxed Mountaineers and their registered guests.
We'll briskly (nearly 3mph moving speed) urban night walk the circumference of Lake Union, in the footprints of the Duwamish native people and the settlers who arrived in the mid 1800's. The Cheshiahud name honors a Duwamish Native who had a home on Portage Bay. The walk is a spectacle of maritime activity, old industry and the lighted city on the surrounding hills.
We'll stop for photos (briefly) and toilet relief (Gas Works Park) as available.
David Williams' (2017, UW Press) Seattle Walks #8 is the guidebook source for this urban adventure. With around 7 miles, we'll need to walk briskly to complete the circuit in ~3 hours. We'll pass MOHAI, Center for Wooden Boats, Gas Works Park (including Kite Hill) and active house boat villages.
