Cross-country Skiing
A 5-mile network of trails for easy/beginner cross-country skiing with around 50 feet of elevation gain near Snoqualmie Pass. Ski trail grooming starts later in the season. Great for kids and families. Take the groomed Palouse to Cascades State Park Trail (formerly John Wayne Trail) for excellent views of Lake Easton.

Backpacking
Lake George is a moderate 4.6 mi, 1400' hike, mostly along the West Side Road. Location is a Park campsite, and it affords access to Gobbler's Knob forest fire lookout with views of Mt. Rainier and to the Wonderland Trail through the South Puyallup Trail.
Packrafting & Sea Kayaking
A freshwater lake between Marysville and Stanwood with access via two Snohomish County parks. It is good for sea kayaking and packrafting skills practice.
Located in Bellevue, this library has a couple of meeting rooms that can be used for committee meetings or lectures for courses.
Day Hiking
A strenuous, 9-mile round trip day hike with 2,600 feet of elevation gain in the Teanaway area. The trail heads up through alpine meadows to a beautiful lake basin.

A moderate, 12-mile round trip ski with 500 feet of elevation gain. The trail follows forest roads which are not specifically groomed for skiers. Snooze Peak is a good winter scramble with views of the lake and surrounding peaks.

Day hike to spectacular scenic lakes, see wildlife, stunning mountain and glaciers, summer wildflowers, golden larches and other fall colors from a base camp in the Lake Louise—Moraine Lake area of Canada's Banff National Park. Larches turn golden in mid- to late-September.

A beautiful alpine lake in British Columbia's Tantalus Provincial Park, located in a cirque surrounded by the rugged Tantalus Range. The lake is accessed by first crossing the Squamish River by boat, then hiking up a steep three-mile trail with 3,866' of elevation gain. Options at the lake include relaxing; hiking to Mt. Niobe and Lambada Lake Meadows; or climbing and scrambling nearby peaks such as Alpha, Omega, Pelops, Serratus, and Tantalus.

An easy, 4 mile hike with 300 ft in elevation gain. This hike takes you along the lakeshore of a former reservoir. Witness what is left of this man-made lake after the removal of the Gline Canyon and Elwha dams.

Enjoy wildflowers and wildlife in golden larch landscapes at Lake O'Hara, Lake Oesa, Opabin Plateau, Schaefer Lake, Odaray Grandview and more.

Ascending 3,400 feet in elevation in a short 4 miles, this hike is serious climb shortly after the beginning. You will be rewarded for efforts along the way with views of Boulder Creek, Mount Skokomish, Whitehorse creek, Mount Pershing and Hood Canal and a open basin lake at the end.
Backpacking & Day Hiking
Spectacular mountain scenery, hanging Jumbo Glacier calves small icebergs into the lake. Many waterfalls, a turbulent creek paralleling most of trail, and worthy explorations for viewpoints along and above lakeshore for sure-footed adventurers.

Paddle on Olympic National Park's Lake Ozette, a good sea kayak trip to combine with a short hike to the Pacific Coast for some beach cleanup.

A 531-acre state park eight miles east of Seattle with 1.5 miles of flat, gently winding trails. The lake is seven miles long, 1.5 miles wide, and has two beach from which packrafts and sea kayaks may be launched. You might spot salmon in the creek or great blue herons, which nest in the park. Idylwood Park and Sammamish Landing Park are two other parks on the lake from which packrafts and sea kayaks may be launched.
Day Hiking & Scrambling
Lake Serene is a strenuous, 7.2 mile round trip day hike with 1,920 feet of elevation gain. The trail heads up thickly forested slopes past Bridal Veil Falls to a secluded lake. From the lake, Philadelphia Mountain is a nice winter to early spring scramble.
