Adams Creek Meadows–High Camp
A direct hike up the northwest face of Mount Adams to a seasonal high camp near the snowline with options to camp lower along the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT).
GETTING THERE
From Randle, drive 1 mile south on Forest Road 25. At the first main road junction, bear left onto Forest Road 23 and drive 32 miles to a junction with Forest Road 2329 (signed Takhlakh Lake Campground) and turn left onto Forest Road 2329. Continue 4.5 miles to the Killen Creek Trailhead (4,600 ft).
ON THE TRAIL
Adams Creek Meadows (6,100 ft)
6.4 file round trip with 1,500 feet of elevation gain
Hike the Killen Creek Trail (No. 113) south 3.2 miles to the intersection with the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) at 6,100 ft in the area known as Adams Creek Meadows. Established campsites and water sources are nearby either direction along the PCT.
High Camp (6,900 ft)
8.4 miles round trip with 2,300 feet of elevation gain
At the intersection with the PCT, the Killen Creek Trail becomes a boot track named High Camp Trail (No. 10). Follow it 1 mile until it ends near 6,900 ft or until encountering snow.notes
