Ape Canyon
A moderate day hike along a ridge next to the volcanic mudflats on the southeast corner of Mount St. Helens.

Hike alongside the massive mudflow that swept the Muddy River to a viewpoint that overlooks the lahar basin and the volcano. Further up the trail is a ridgetop that looks down into Ape Canyon and up onto East Dome on the flank of Mount St. Helens.
