Big Creek Loop
An easy, 4.3 mile loop day hike with 850 ft in elevation gain just north of Lake Cushman. The trail goes clockwise through the forests surrounding Big Creek. Big Creek is also a good winter approach to scramble Mount Ellinor.
getting there
From US-101 turn west onto SR-119. Drive 9 miles to the junction with Forest Road 24 and turn left. Continue ~100 yards to Big Creek Campground and the trailhead (1,000 ft). When the campground is closed, park outside the gate. When the campground is open, drive to the trailhead on the left.

This loop hikes along Big Creek exploits part of long abandoned logging road, crosses many bubbling and roaring creeks, and wanders through old and second growth forest.
