Driving directions
Drive SR 2 toward Stevens Pass At Milepost 55, turn left onto the Old Cascade Highway. At the junction with Forest Road 6710 (Martin Creek), take a sharp left onto Forest Road 6710. In l.4 miles reach the Iron Goat—Martin Creek trailhead.
approach & ascent
Hike down on the trail descending to Martin Creek, follow it north, and then up Kelly Creek. Follow the trail (or flagged route) to the 5,000-foot pass north of Captain Point. Then follow the ridge south to the summit.
Alternatively, continue on the road until just past the Martin Creek bridge and hike an abandoned road into the Kelly Creek drainage. Another option is to take road’s switchbacks high up onto the southeast slope of Captain Point.
