Burke-Gilman Trail
This 18-mile paved trail runs from the Golden Gardens Park in Seattle, along Lake Washington, and to the Sammamish River Trail in Bothell. Along the way you can visit the Hiram Chittenden Locks, Fremont Canal Park, Gas Works Park, University of Washington, Magnuson Park, Log Boom Park, Wayne Golf Course and Blyth Park. It's sees frequent use by walkers, joggers, and bikers, and can have large crowds on a nice day in many section.
Stairway Walk
Start in a quiet North Seattle neighborhood at Cedar Park that sits on the bluff overlooking Lake Washington. This is Walk 4, "Cedar Park and the Burke-Gilman Trail," in Seattle Stairway Walks. On your walk you'll find some of the few stairways built in the automobile era. Head north along the Burke-Gilman Trail for a mile or so and hike back up the bluff to wind your way back along city streets.
