Cougar Mountain: Bear Ridge Trailhead
Hike the Bear Ride Trail from Issaquah's Talus Open Space and then on the trails in Cougar Mountain Regional Wildland Park. The trail goes through old forests and over streams and passes the "Fantastic Erratic" boulder.
GETTING THERE
From I-90 take Exit 15 for SR-900 W/17th Ave NW. Head south on 17th Ave, continuing as it become SR-900. Just past SE 83rd Pl (on the left), the Bear Ridge Trail (250 ft) is on the right (northwest). There is room for about three cars. This trailhead is just outside of Cougar Mountain Regional Wildland Park in Issaquah's Talus Open Space.
ON THE TRAIL
The many interconnected trails in the Cougar Mountain area provide many out-and-back and loop day hikes of varying mileage, elevation gain, and difficulty. Choose your own adventure!
A typical hike on the Bear Ridge Trail and on the trails in Cougar Mountain is a moderate 10 miles round trip with 2,100 feet of elevation gain.
It's ~1.2 miles on the Bear Ridge Trail to the "Fantastic Erratic" boulder just inside of Cougar Mountain Park.
