Cougar Mountain: Terrace Trail Trailhead
Hike from the edge of The Highlands in Newcastle one mile to Cougar Mountain Regional Wildland Park. From there continue on to De Leo Wall or onto Marshall Hill Trail and return on the other to make a loop.
getting there
Take Exit 10 off of I-405 drive south on Coal Creek Pkwy SE. Turn left onto SE 79th St and then right onto 136 the Ave SE. Bear right onto 144th Pl SE and continue to the trailhead (530 ft), just north of SE 87th Pl.
on the trail
Terrace Trail begins at the north east corner of The Highlands and ascends to Cougar Mountain Regional Wildland Park where it connects with the De Leo Wall and Marshall Hill Trails. The Wildside Trail connects the De Leo Wall and Marshall Hill Trails to make a nice loop.
