about the open space
The Danville-Georgetown Open Space is dominated by second-growth Douglas fir forest that is undergoing ongoing rehabilitation by King County with the reintroduction of other native tree species. Decommissioned logging roads form the foundation of an extensive system of high quality backcountry trails. The Dansville-Georgetown site is managed by the county as a model of active forest management that maintains a balance of ecological, economic and recreation values. Individual trails include the Old Indian, Ridge Loop, Berry Bear, and Lone Wolf trails. The grade is relatively gentle and there is good signage through the area.
