- Maynard Beach: The best place to park is along the east side of US-101 near an old metal gate, about 100 feet past the painted railroad cars. The nearest bathrooms are at the convince store along US-101 at head of Discovery Bay.
- Gardiner Boat Ramp: There is a port-a-potty at the boat ramp. The nearest bathrooms are at the convince store along US-101 at head of Discovery Bay.

Maynard Beach to Contractors Point
8.0 nm round trip, Difficulty: Sea Kayak II
Paddle the West shore of Discovery Bay, passing Mill Point and Kalset Point on the way to Contractors Point, then return. A minimum 4 ft tide level needed to paddle the head of Discovery Bay. There are no services at Maynard Beach nor anywhere else along the route. The nearest bathrooms are at the convenience store along US-101 at the head of Discovery Bay.
Gardiner to Discovery Bay Wildlife Area
15 nm round trip, Difficulty: Sea Kayak III
Launch from Gardiner Boat Ramp, located on west shore of Discovery Bay. Pass Contractors Point, Kalset Point, and Mill Point, before reaching the wild life area near US-101. If there is a southerly breeze enjoy a nice push in addition to an ebbing tide. Then paddle north along the eastern shore until reaching Beckett point. From there, cross west to the boat ramp. A minimum 4 foot tide level is needed to paddle the head of Discovery’s Bay.
Discovery Bay: Gardiner to Cape George
8.0 nm round trip, Difficulty: Sea Kayak III
Paddle the North end of Discovery Bay, starting from Gardiner and visiting Diamond Point, Cape George and Beckett Point. There is a portable toilet at Gardiner, but no services or public access at Diamond Point, Cape George or Beckett Point. Glass Beach is a good lunch spot, around the corner North from Cape George. No parking pass is required.
