Iron Mountain & Conglomerate Point
Iron Mountain and Conglomerate Point are strenuous but low-tech alpine scrambles in the Wild Sky Wilderness.
Approach & Ascent
Iron Mountain and Conglomerate Point both start at Trout Creek on the North Fork Skykomish Road near the town of Index. The peaks are often done individually, but can be combined for a very strenuous trip. They are best done in winter and early spring - other times of year the route is very brushy. The approach is on an abandoned logging/mining road which is not very aesthetic, but once near the top there are outstanding views of Gunn Peak, Merchant Peak, Spire Mountain.
