Kelly Butte
Kelly Butte is a lookout site on a summit with local prominence in the Green River watershed. An easy, four mile day hike with 1,000 feet of elevation gain in the summer. In the off season it becomes a scramble of eight miles and 2,600 feet of gain because the road to the approach is closed.

Kelly Butte is approached from Forest Road 7030 in the Greenwater River area of SR 410.

Hike in berry country through open forest past interesting rock formations to a rebuilt fire lookout. Experience panoramic views from an unusual perspective, including a great view of Mount Rainier.
Ascent & Ascent (scramble)
During most of winter snowed in approach roads render it inaccessible. In shoulder seasons in can become a scramble, whose strenuousness and difficulty will vary depending on snow conditions and extent.
