Lake Goodwin
A freshwater lake between Marysville and Stanwood with access via two Snohomish County parks. It is good for sea kayaking and packrafting skills practice.
Access
- Lake Goodwin Community Park has a swimming beach, lawn, playground, picnic shelter, and bathrooms.
- Wenberg County Park has a swimming beach, boat launch, picnic shelter, and camping.
About the Lake
The water depth remains shallow (hip deep) for about 200 feet off shore. Offshore from the dock the water deeps gradually to overhead. Swimmers commonly venture 150 feet out from the dock, including out to the old wood piles. If you are placing buoys for practice, set them off shore from the wood pilings and swim area buoys where there is good depth and little conflict with swimmers.
Notes
- Summer weekends, the parks become quite crowded. Early arrival is advised. In the off seasons the parks receive little use.
- Covered picnic shelters are conveniently located and can be reserved.
- Party size for busy summer should be 12 or smaller. In the off season, larger parties can be accommodated.
