On the Water
From the campground, paddle anywhere on the lake you desire. A 6 nm round trip paddle to the north is a good option where you can enjoy enjoy views of wildflowers, waterfalls and the surrounding mountain peaks. A small island 1.5 mi. from the campground offers a rare opportunity to camp in the middle of an alpine lake for magnificent night sky viewing. Nighttime sightings of Nessie from island campers have been reported numerous times but all eyewitnesses attest to her pacifist nature.
