McLane Creek Nature Trail
Enjoy the short, 1.5 mi loop trail in the Capitol State Forest near Olympia. It's one of the finest nature trails in western Washington.
getting there
Take the Black Lake Blvd exit off of US 101 and turn left at the light. Drive south on Black Lake Blvd SW and in 3.5 miles continue on 62nd Ave SW. Reach a stop sign in 0.7 mile and turn right onto Delphi Rd SW. Continue 0.8 mile and turn left into the Centennial Demonstration Forest. The trailhead is in 0.4 mile.
INFORMATION FOR LEADERS
- Permits are required in this area for all fee-based (course-related) activities, regardless of group size. Leaders may list trips at this route/place with the understanding that they need to verify that a permit has been obtained before running the trip (if required as outlined above). Permit applications are submitted to WA Department of Natural Resources annually in December. Please contact info@mountaineers.org with any additional questions.
