Mount Bachelor Area Sno-Parks
Located in central Oregon, there are several SnoParks off of the Cascade Lakes Highway for cros-country ski and snowshoes trips.
Getting there
driving
The nearest town is Bend, Oregon off of US-97. It's ~6 hour drive from Seattle. In wintertime much of the Cascades Lakes Highway is closed. From Bend, drive SR-372 (NW Colorado Ave, SW Colorado Ave and then SW Century Dr off of SR-97) to the Sno-Parks along it's route to the Mount Baker ski area.
air travel
The nearest airport is Roberts Field-Redmond Municipal Airport (RDM), 20 miles north of Bend.
transit
From mid-December to mid-April, Cascades East Transit offers a reasonably-priced bus service from the Bend Park-N-Ride lot (located on SW Columbia St between Galveston and Simpson) and various points in central Oregon to Mount Bachelor.

- Many of these Sno-Parks require an Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) Sno-Park permit (Link). This is NOT the same as the Washington state Sno-Park permit! The ODOT Sno-Park is also honored in Idaho and California. Sno-park season is November 1st through April 30th.
- The Mount Bachelor ski area and Nordic centeroffers a variety of in-bounds terrain for downhill skiing and snowboarding. Uphill in-bounds travel is allowed on designated routes for those eager to "earn their turns." And the dedicated Nordic center has groomed cross-country ski trails. Summertime activities include hiking and mountain biking.
