Mount McLoughlin
A moderate scramble to the top of a 9,000-foot high volcano near Grant's Pass, Oregon. It's one of the Cascade Volcanoes pin peaks.
Getting There
Take Exit 40 off of I-5 just past Grants Pass onto OR-99. Drive east to its intersection with OR-140 and turn east and drive past Fish Lake. Turn left onto Forest Road 3650 and follow it to the Mount McLoughlin Trailhead (5,775 ft).
Approach & Ascent
Follow the Mount McLoughlin Trail (No. 3716) until it crosses the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT). Then continue strenuously climbing mostly west to the summit.
