Deer & Sand Lakes
An easy 5.2 mile hike with 960 feet of elevation gain on the well-maintained Pacific Crest Trail to beautiful alpine lakes in the William O. Douglas Wilderness near White Pass.

Drive to the Leech Lake trailhead, a short distance from SR 12, at the east end of White Pass.
on the trail
This easy hike passes through old growth forest and by impressive Deer Lake a half mile before reaching Sand Lake, which is nestled in a picturesque alpine meadow and provides a nice swimming opportunity on a warm summer day.
