A loal park in Tumwater with two miles of paved trails including some ADA accessible. Dogs, hikers and walkers share this trail.
GETTING THERE
From downtown Olympia, follow 14th Ave SE for 0.9 mile to a traffic circle at the junction with Henderson Blvd SE. Proceed through the circle, exiting south on Henderson Blvd SE (third exit). Continue 2.8 miles to Pioneer Park on your right.
You can also reach the park from Tumwater by following Custer Way east to Cleveland Ave SE, which becomes the Yelm Highway. Then turn right on Henderson and continue to the park.
ON THE TRAIL
Access the trail system from several trailheads on the south side of the parking lot. There are several trails leading east and west that will take you to the Deschutes River (east) or floodplains (west) and through and old orchard. If the sports fields are empty you can take the paved paths through them to extend your walk.
