Rattlesnake Mountain (West)
An easy to strenuous hike along Rattlesnake Mountain starting from the Snoqualmie Point Trailhead. Hike up to 13.4 miles and 2,420 feet of elevation gain, reaching Stan's Overlook, Grand Prospect and the East Peak. Enjoy many great views from the ridge!
getting there
From I-90, take Exit 27 and turn right. Arrive at Snoqualmie Point Park, a large day-use parking lot and picnic area, in about a half mile.
on the trail
The trail follows I-90 fairly closely, but much of the time you'll forget it's there. Hike up a trail with a mix of new and old growth forest with some open spaces on a clearly marked well maintained trail.
Stan's Overlook (2,100 ft)
Reach the the first viewpoint, Stan's Overlook (2,100 ft), in 2.4 miles and 1,020 feet of elevation gain. From there, you can see Mount Si and the Snoqualmie Valley. It's 5 miles round trip and 1,020 feet of elevation gain.
NOTE: One of the trails available to descend Stan's Overlook - the Upward Mobility Trail - is heavily shared with mountain bikers. The trail is one-way on the way up for bikers, but 2-ways for hikers. The trail is narrow, such that any hikers or runners choosing to descend on this trail may consider steering clear to the side of any ascending bikers.
Grand Prospect (3,100 ft)
Continue on and arrive at Grand Prospect (3,100 ft) in another 2.5 miles and 1,000 feet of elevation gain. This precipice is due south of the town of North Bend. It's 9.8 miles and 2,200 feet of elevation gain round trip.
Rattlesnake Mountain, East Peak (3,500 ft)
Reach the East Peak in another 1.8 miles and 400 feet of elevation gain. Great views abound from here! 13.4 miles and 2,420 feet of elevation gain round trip.
