From I-5 northbound, Take Exit 231 for SR 11 N/Chuckanut Drive toward Bow-Edison. At the traffic circle, take the first exit and stay on SR 11 north for 5.1 miles. Turn left onto Sunset Road and drive for 1.8 miles to Farm to Market Road and turn right. Drive for 0.8 miles and turn left onto Bayview Edison Road. Follow Bayview Edison Road and continue straight as it becomes Samish Island Road. Turn right at Roney Road, drive for 0.4 miles and turn left at Halloran Road and drive 0.2 miles to parking at Samish Island Park.

Because the island has a thin trip in its middle, there are two loop hikes, one on the east side and one on the west side of the island.

- To complete the east loop requires permission from the Community of Christ church, because you need to travel across church property from Scott Road to Blue Heron Road.
