Serpentine Hill (winter)
A moderate winter scramble in weather-protected area near Blewett Pass. It's 7 miles round trip and 2,400 feet of elevation gain.

Drive on SR 97 to just over 8 miles north of Blewett Pass and park on Forest Road 7320.
approach & ascent
From road at the confluence of Shaser Creek and Scotty Creek ascend slopes through open forest first to the northwest, then to the west at 3,680 ft. Cut through the cliffs bordering Serpentine to the east on a game track at 3,600 ft. Drop down on the west side and ascend the slopes to Serpentine's southeast ridge, which can be followed to the summit. One can descend Serpentine's west ridge to intersect a road system accessing Iron Mountain or drop down from the 4,200-foot pass west of Serpentine to circle back to the starting point via the North Shaser Creek Road (Forest Road 7322).
