Sharpe Park

A easy two-mile hike in a little known Skagit County Park just north of Deception Pass. Enjoy fabulous views of the Strait of Juan de Fuca, the San Juan Islands, the Olympic mountains, and more from Sares Head or Duban Head. It can be extended but doing some of the other loops in the park.

Getting There

Take Exit 230 off of I-5 at Burlington and drive west on SR-20. In ~15 miles turn left at Sharpe's Corner to continue on SR-20 south toward Whidbey Island. Just after Pass Lake, turn right onto Rosario Road. The park is on the left in 1.7 miles.

On the Trail

Hike any of the trails through the park being sure to visit and soak in the views at Sares Head, Duban Head, or both. The trails wind through a forest with a mix of madrone, spruce, cedar, fir, and hemlock. Although there is no beach access, you may spot seals, sea lions, and maybe even whales in Rosario Strait.
