Teanaway Ridge (winter)
A peak off of State Route 97 accessible all winter for a moderate winter scramble.
getting there
Drive to the winter parking area and Iron Creek Trailhead on SR-97 18.8 miles north of I-90 Exit 85 in Cle Elum and 5.7 miles south of Blewett Pass (3,000 ft).
approach & ascent
From the trailhead follow the road up Hovey Creek. Take the spur road to the ridgetop north of Hovey Creek, or follow the Hovey Creek road until it crosses the Hovey Creek and ascend to the saddle just east of Point 4002. Ascend slopes to the west to intersect with the southwest ridge of Point 4943 on Teanaway Ridge and follow it to the summit.
For a loop trip, continue north on Teanaway Ridge to Point 4729, then descend its southwest ridge to intersect Forest Road 9714, the road up the West Fork of Iron Creek, at ~3,320 ft. Descend the road to the trailhead.
