The Pulpit
A challenging scramble of 10 miles and 3,500 feet of elevation gain near Snoqualmie Pass.
getting there
From Exit 34 on I-90, drive north on 468th Ave SE and then turn right onto SE Middle Fork Rd. It becomes Forest Road 56. Continue on Forest Road 56 to the Middle Fork Trailhead.
approach & ascent
From the Middle Fork Trailhead parking lot, cross the bridge and turn right (west) onto the Pratt Connector Trail. Follow the trail until its junction with the unofficial Rainy Creek Trail. Leave the trail around 3,200 ft, heading west toward the ridge (it may be brushy). Once on the ridge ascend north to Point 4440, then northwest to Point 4523 (aka The Pulpit). If conditions allow continue north on the ridge to Lookout Point, descending a steep gully on west side and traverse below cliffs before ascending back to ridge (Class 3).
