White River Trail
Hike or snowshoe southeast from Camp Sheppard up to 7.6 miles round trip with up to 700 feet of elevation gain. If the trail is snow free in winter, it's a nice off-season on hike. When the trail is covered in snow, it's a great easy to moderate snowshoe trip.
Getting There
From Enumclaw drive east on SR-410 for 27.7 miles to Camp Sheppard. It is a left turn off of the highway and is well-signed. Turn right into the parking lot and trailhead with privy immediately after entering Camp Sheppard (2,300 ft).
On the Trail
Hike the Snoqera Falls Trail, passing the two entrances to the Moss Lake Nature Trail loop and then reaching its intersection with the White River Trail. Turn right onto the White River Trail and travel as far as desired. Reach the Ranger Creek Trail at 1.9 miles, a short spur trail to Alta Crystal Resort at 3.2 miles, the Deep Creek Trail just after that, and Corral Pass Road at 3.8 miles. The spur trail just after crossing Deep Creek look for a spur trail to the right—it leads to great views of the valley and potentially views of wintering elk. At Corral Pass Road there more adventure on the road itself or up to Goat Falls.
