Yellow Hill & Elbow Peak
A strenuous, 10 mile in-and-out day hike with 2,800 feet of elevation gain in the Teanaway. The trail heads up through forests and meadows, opening up views of Mount Rainier.
Getting There
From SR-970 turn onto Teanaway River Road. Turn left at its junction with the North Fork Teanaway River Road, drive toward the Teanaway Campground, and turn right onto the Middle Fork Teanaway River Road (Forest Road . Drive past Indian Campground and the Middle Fork Teanaway Trailhead to the Yellow Hill Trailhead (3,000 ft).
On the Trail
Hike the Yellow Hill Trail 4.5 miles with 1,200 feet of elevation gain to Yellow Hill. Continue 1.1 miles with 473 feet of elevation gain to Elbow Peak.
