We gained 2,200' in 4 1/2 hours. Despite fog in the upper stretches and some slippery moist talus it was a most enjoyable, and quite beautiful, trip. Lynn found a report evaluating area for wilderness status, describing the area as a roadless island close unusual so near to an urban area. The upper stretches turn out to be old growth forest with treess 200-700 years old.
