Good trail until about 4600'. After that snow with intermittent melted out sections.
This trip was planned to be scramble of rock thunder peak, but when arriving at the TH parking we found the conditions being light rain and windy. So it was decided to head east and do Mount Baldy, which was east enough to improve the weather to mostly cloudy with somewhat windy conditions. We also saw a few snow flakes up high but they did not amount to much.
We hike the good trail which became snow covered about 4600' after that it was mostly snow with sections melted out. There was some hard snow on the ridge leading to the Baldy Summit, which we used micro spikes on the way up. The summit area was snow free. The only minor incident was I slipped in tree well and manage to get a minor cut on my nose. Overall a good day and an enjoyable group to be out with.
