Bootpath to ridge was very wet and muddy. 4 inches of new snow overnight in the gully.
Bootpath is found .25 miles on the right side of a creek bed. Mostly easy to follow. There was a lower fixed rope that is unnecessary, and one higher up that is a bit more useful. Bootpath continues along the ridge. Snow began in gully and was good for kicking steps. 4 inches of new snow was causing some small surface sliding. At the col, wintery conditions and steep "snow wall" sapped our interest in continuing, so we turned around here.
