Alpine Scramble - West Granite

We did a loop, scrambling up Granite first, then running the ridge to West Granite, then descending by way of Ollalie Lake. The much anticipated long glissades to Ollalie lake were stymied by a lack of snow.

  • Road suitable for all vehicles
  • If you plan to descend to the northwest and are looking forward to the long glissades down the bowl, you will need to schedule this trip for March or April. There was no snow on the SW facing bowl, revealing a boulder field that slowed our descent.  Instead, descend straight south, over Tusk O Granite.
